Abrasive Sequence

36 → 60 → 80 → 120 grit

Field Reports

From the People
Who Were There.

1920s Douglas Fir · Full Residential
"We'd been living with carpet over original 1920s Douglas fir for twelve years. Grain found boards with zero rot, matched the stain to our original kitchen floors, and finished it in four days. The house sold $38K over asking — the realtor said it was the floors."

Gymnasium · 4,200 sq ft · Heritage
"The gymnasium floor at Eastside Community Center had water damage from a burst pipe — swollen, cupped boards, black staining. Every other contractor said replace it. Grain neutralized the tannin stain, re-flattened the cups with moisture cycling, and finished with commercial-grade poly. Looks better than it did in 1978."

Residential Flip · Red Oak · 3-Day Turnaround
"I stage eight to twelve flips a year in the Pearl. Grain is the only floor crew I trust with tight timelines. They quoted Tuesday, started Thursday, delivered Saturday — three rooms of red oak, photographing warm and honey-gold. My listings are spending an average of six fewer days on market."
